Sample Guided Meditation Exercise

This sample guided meditation exercise is directly taken from the article " Mindfulness-based practices for EFL teachers: sample tasks and insights to cultivate mindfulness " written by Assoc. Prof. Dr. İpek Kuru Gönen (2022).


The instruction:

You are in the classroom, sitting with a long spine. Feel your environment: your desk, the classroom objects around, the air, your friend, the sounds in the classroom. Give all your attention to this present moment. Feel the ground under your feet and the desk under your sitting bones. Focus on all the body sensations right now. Just observe them. Breathe in and out deeply. Expand your belly in each breath. Relax your shoulder and jaw. Remember that the only reality right now is that you are sitting and breathing. How do you feel?
